Jonathan (Self) and Vicky (Marshall), the company’s founders.

Darling’s Real Dog Food is a traditional family business. Well, strictly speaking, a two-family business: the Marshalls and the Selfs. Between us we handle everything apart from the veterinary side of things, which is overseen by Tom Farrington MVB MRCVS VetMFHom.

Our kitchens are based in the depths of rural Wiltshire and we source most of our ingredients from small, local suppliers with the exception of some of the vitamins and supplements. Aloe Vera, for instance, doesn’t really flourish in Wiltshire.

Darling’s isn’t a big venture and this allows us to offer a genuinely personal service. In fact, we must be the only dog food company in the world that knows every single one of its canine customers by name.

Darling’s was founded by Vicky Marshall and Jonathan Self. Our staff includes four other family members: Vicky’s husband, Gary, and three of Jonathan’s children, Nat, Jack and Bert.

Our Chief Veterinary Surgeon is Tom Farrington MVB MRCVS VetMFHom. Tom practises as a homeopathic vet and also works for Homeopet LLC one of the leading suppliers of homeopathic remedies for animals.

Our kitchens and packing facility are located in Calne and Highworth, Wiltshire. We are not open to the public but visitors are welcome by appointment.

The company is 100% independent. The shares are held by the Marshalls and the Selfs and by two ‘angel investors’ who provided the extra funding.
